has anyone owned both AP2v1 and v2?
V1 vs V2
PROS:
Built in 'headrest' speakers (are pretty much identicle to the $400 aftermarket kit on v1s)
Temp gauge in the cluster
"Pocket" under the dash on passenger side
VSA
DRL's
A plethora of minor engine changes for 06
New wheel design
CONS:
Seat design...I LOVED the sporty look of the v1's...the v2 seats seem bland but slightly more durable. But that's just a matter of opinion..
I would go for a v2 without hesitation...too many things changed from v1 to v2 to miss out.
The drive in the 06 SEEMS more refined but it just may be that my 05 has 36k as opposed to the 06 that I drove with 12k

I went from a BMW with ASC+T and a Quatro wagon with their version of the same thing to the S-2000 and my wife's car... it's a minivan.
Anyhow, I REALLY miss having traction control, skid control, whatever. I probably go through an extra roll of TP per year due to the lack of traction control on a cold day, or in the rain, or whatever. I even nearly spun once this winter going 43 MPH in a STRAIGHT LINE. Never would have happened in the Bimmer.

i agree with what everyone is saying above..
the only thing that scares me away from V2 is the DBW and wanting forced induction.. if someone else could chime in on this matter, i would appreciate, but if not, i dont want to thread jack.

for ap2v2 FI, check out the kraftwerks supercharger thread in the FI forum. you'll find it's a ~360whp on ~9psi supercharger-in-a-box with what appears to be near factory reliability. they incorporated the hondata reflash as part of it, so you get an 8500rpm redline, lowered minimum vtec rpms, and you keep the stock ecu and emissions components.
...and it's currently available for ap2v2 only.
as for turbo, i've heard that it can be done, it just costs more and you could lose cruise and TCS depending on how its done. so if you're set on turbo, ap2v1 is the way to go.

i say if you feel like you need traction control then go with the v2, if not go with the v1. Both are great cars. One advantage to the v2 is the hondata reflash available for them. That is always a plus since you will get a nice little power jump with that. Take it easy.

I guess I will be the first to say that the DBW is really noticable to me. I have driven a few v2s now and they are all the same. I currently own an '05 and an 08' The 05 feels more responsive around town but a bit on the soft side compared to my CR. I must admit that the CR only has 1200 miles on it and is barely broken in so I expect it to feel more powerful and smoother as time progresses.
The DBW delay on the v2 happens right when you get it into gear and feels like you let out the clutch too quickly and bogged the motor even though you didn't. After that, it's not noticeable. The '08 is also getting about 30 miles more per tank than the '05 under the same driving conditions. Hope this helps!
