It has definitely been done. Do a search, I've seen a vid for an S with an LS1 engine. Try either streetfire.net or youtube.com, it's definitely on one of them. I met a guy at a meet once that had a 1994 Civic hatch with an LS1...he converted it to rear wheel drive and everything. It was one of the weirdest things hearing this musclecar tone from a Honda.

Yeah I wondered about that. He had it in the car and I thought he'd mentioned going another route before finishing.

It could be done. I'd be interested in the type of clutch, transmission, and axles that would have to utilized to make this kind of swap livable.

off topic but heres a vid of a Lexus V8 in a supra running a T88.

he gets full boost by ~4000rpm, which is achieved (in a 2JZ) by a 63-67mm turbo. must be nice having full spool by 4 grand, but making like 800whp.

I have not seen it done with the S2K, yet. I have seen a Sprite with a 350 Chebby and of course you are all familiar with the Monster Miatas and Mega-Monster Miatas.

I think a 2JZ would fit in there perfectly. Not sure why nobody's done it.

I had a monster miata years ago, fast but the car had issues (think Italian trash).

When it ran it was much fun. 425hp car weighed around 2000 lbs.

Funny how your tastes change over the years. Now I ride a Turbo Busa and think the Miata was slow.

Well there's that one CRX with the huge drag slicks on the back and the big block sticking out the front. There's actually a video of it rolling out the park.
