Hat Recommendation
The current hat poll reminded me I should pass this tip along. I think I've tried every possible ball cap, etc. over the years for traveling in sportscars. If your like me and concerned about eye/face protection from the sun and want one that stay's on at any speed (besides a racing helmet), there's one I can recommend. It is made by Columbia Sportswear Company (which is stiched on the front). The style is most noticeable by the black mesh sides (which do keep it cool and allow trapped air to vent rather than scopping it off). It's not as stylish as Nike or what ever - but it works. It was originally designed as a fisherman's cap and I've seen it both with or without fish stiched on it. My wife doesn't find it too stylish, nor do I, and we skipped the fish version; but trust me when we're flying down the road we are both wearing them because they work (truck's, etc. do not blow them off -- no matter what speed). They have a soft inner ban, are adjustable, very light weight, and comfortable. When I get to my destination, I can easily switch to my very cool "S2000" ball cap.

It was great meeting you at Waterford on Saturday. Your "A" was very nice looking. Those cars aren't fast, but they are a blast to drive.
I spent Sunday at Meadowbrook, I hope the races were as good as the show!
We had a great time and will pencil this event on the calendar from now on.
How'd you do in the concours with all of the strict judging? I ended up with 199.5 out of 200 possible points! I lost the 1/2 point because of engine bay cleanliness!

Meat, Likewise.
Nice to put a face and name with the handle "meat"! I didn't enter the offical car show; I just parked there to keep my beer supply nearby to turn 9, which is usually THE place to be when things start happening on the track. Congrat's on the high score; understand you got a nice wall plaque & ribbon. Some day I'd like to try out the mid-range torque with the "Moo-gin" setup.
My buddy racing the MGA had his race motor out for an upgrade and was using a stock 1500 engine. Although he qualified last (shows how many people really run stock engines, even in vintage), he did manage to move up several positions and passed a Merc 300SL, after the Merc's tires went away. Since Merc's (Mercedes-Benz) were the featured car at Meadow Brook, no doubt you saw some nice ones. I'll always remember crawling around Fangio's Milla Miglea car one year when it showed up with no-pre-announcement at the Merc's tent. I'd met Fangio at Elkhart Lake earlier that same year. He was before your time.
Usually I do stay in the area two days, but my wife couldn't go Saturday (and we usually stay with her folks which makes it nice), so I didn't stick around. Just locked the ole MG at 85 and headed home.

Fangio's GP car was at Pebble Beach and I did plenty of crawling around it myself!
That 300SL was set up for testing at the Salt Flats from what I heard.
Yep, we got a ribbon and a plaque - quite fun.
Mugen is very nice.....

I bought mine from a Honda dealership in South Dakota when we stopped to change oil while on vacation. Mine is the more traditional squared off type. I've seen the more curved, ala Nike styles, advertised right here -- check out the vendor that sells all the shirts, jackets, etc. He advertises here -- forgot the name, sorry.
