Have anyone reached top speed in their S?

 

Only 135 in a race, but stable as hell with the top down.

 

well...Top speed is an enigmatic thing for the S. the numbers seem to be all over the place...some get into the 160's stock, others are hard pressed at 150. It depends a lot on humidity, air temp, altitude, road composition, etc. I bet a stock S could do 165 on a cold, dry night at sea level on a concrete highway. I hit 153 with the top up, 144 with the top down, and I will never do it again because it scared the bejeezus out of me. At 153 I was still accelerating, but not pulling very hard. probably could have done 160, but ran out of road. I have way more fun at speeds within the posted speed limits, though.

Stock s2000- top speed 153 top up 145 top down.

 

Very dangerous to attempt. Need to have perfect conditions and perfect tires.

It would be exhilarating though!

 

There is a video on kazaa showing an s2000 going downhill at 281 km/h approx. 176 mph. Not sure if it is stock or not.

wesmaster is supercharged though...... I personally don't think the S2000 will get much past 150mph (actual speed vs speedo speed).

I saw an indicated 162mph on a slight declined bridge on I81 near Harrisburg...... but..there is no guarantee that the speedo was acurate at that speed....but it sounds cool anyway

I have witnessed the stock S2000 Speedometer indicated 158mph @6th gear / 8500RPM.
Top was up and road is flat.
It took about 2 miles to get to that speed.
