have S2K, looking at 3000GT VR4
I am the self proclaimed expert on 3Ss on s2ki, lol. I've currently got 3 (1st gen RT/TT, 2nd gen VR4, and a 1st gen base stealth). I'm actually about to swap my VR4 into another chassis with half the miles. My mother DD's a 94 VR4 as well. Been driving 3S for 12+ years now. I really like the interiors. Nothing crazy going on, well put together, quality materials (except the shift boot lol). The cars with the removable glass roofs are nice. The electric roof is ok, but takes up a lot of headroom (very deceptive). I actually have trouble fitting with my VR4 with my helmet on. Don't have that problem in the non sunroof or glass sunroof cars, its weird.
What you noted about the ride is normal for a VR4. With stock suspension things are pretty vague. A set of coilovers absolutely will transform the car though. My RT/TT rides on teins and is very nice to drive. My VR4 has megans and it is razor sharp and VERY stiff. The steering is overboosted but once you tighten up the suspension and get some good wheels and rubber on there you get adequate feedback. It will never be like the S2000 though.

I liked those cars a lot when they came out. I remember seeing a road race at Road America in the rain in which an AWD Stealth started in about 18th place and finished around 3rd. Unfortunately, over the years I've heard many comments like those above - unreliable and difficult to repair. Even discounting the people who don't know what they are talking about, there is a lot of bad spoken about those cars.
I remember reading a review that said for a car that sounds so exciting on paper, and looks like a race car with license plates, it's surprisingly uninvolving to drive.
I admit I've never so much as sat in one, but I'd never consider buying one unless it was in excellent condition and very reasonably priced. There are plenty of more exciting, cheaper, and more reliable cars out there.

I had a 91 white VR4 a while back, I agree theres alot of problems that come with owing one but I loved the car. I had tons of tranny problems and electrical problems. The active aero would lift for no reason even when I was stopped at a stop light. If you do buy it, don't track it, just drive it normal and slow. This way it'll last, I drove mine for 3 years before I sold it, due to transmission problems.
