Head rest solution has been developed: Version II production begins next week
After testing of several prototypes, we have finally settled on the improvements to the head rests. The improvements include:
No gluing of components -- the leather is sewn together into a single unit.
A zipper in the back for insertion of the foam.
No more wire ties to secure the head rest in place in the seat back hole. Version II has a rigid plastic piece in the back that fits in between the seat leather and the mesh plastic in the seat back hole, anchoring it firmly in place.
Die cutting of all leather pieces resulting in more uniform quality of shape and assembly.
While the basic shape and size of the head rests will remain the same, for all intents and purposes, the new version is a complete re-engineering. It's a vast improvement.
Production on Version II will begin as early as next week. Version II will not be offered for sale until we have replaced all the defective Version I head rests that have been returned for repair or replacement. Once that has been done, we will offer a GB on Version II.
Pictures will be posted next week.
For all of you who have suffered through defects in Version I, thank you for your patience and understanding. We think you'll be very happy with the replacement.
