Default Headlight replacement & TSB update

Well, the headlight issue wasn't a problem, ordered under warranty and it'll be in in a few days (bubbling in the matte black area under the HID). However I called later to inquire about the TSB (54?) on the clutch regarding the deacceleration noise... a quick check of my VIN on record and their TSB (which states cars up to #77xx are covered in MY2000) and the part was ordered without question, all handled over the phone.

So now I have an appointment to get both done this friday, so far every warranty and TSB problem has been performed without question or hassle!

Hmmmm, how loud is the noise. I have MY2000 vin 8111, and have a light buzzing type noise during deacceleration between 4000 and 2500 rpm. Is this the noise?

The noise I hear is a far cry from the sound of the engine during deacceleration at any other rpm.

If the TSB calls for cars with VIN's up to 77xx, I wonder if I will have any problems getting it done?

It's a fairly noisy droaning noise during deacceleration from any RPM above 2k. Not a light buzzing by any means but more of a low resonating howl.

I'm assuming the TSB just mentions what cars are affected so you might encounter some sort of difficulty but heck, complain enough and they might do something but it doesn't sound like you have the same problem.

All stooks have the "buzzing" sound durring decceleration. The TSB replaces the clutch disk...the new disk is supposed to keep the noise from getting worse as it wears. I had mine done at about 30K miles and I confirm that it makes a difference.

loki,

Did the dealer tell you what is the cause of the bubbling??? If it's excessive heat from the HIDs, then we'll all get this eventually.

I wonder if Honda is going to put out a TSB for the bubbling problem. It seems to be happening on a lot of cars lately.

Yes, that is the noise.

I have an MY2000 #86xx that is being fixed for that TSB right now.

Mark,

No, he just took one look at it and ordered the part. The 4 bubbles are directly in front of the HID light tho so the high heat could definitely be the culprit. I typically run with my HIDs on all the time so they're getting alot of use.

loki,

That's bad. Sounds like Honda might have a bad design for their HIDs. Looks like they might need to redesign them. I don't run with my lights on very often. Guess I'm just lucky that I haven't gotten the bubbles yet.
