After recently sending all of the sound from the stereo to the headrest speakers, I realized that the sound quality was TERRIBLE - it sounded muffled and there virtually no high frequency sound coming out of them. Is this normal?

 

Pretty much unless you get a better set up. I have them, i had to get
an Alpine head unit plus amp to make them work so so. In short they
are not worth the money.
