Adding speakers
Not sure if this is in the right section. Anyway, I've been thinking about added a set of speakers behind the seats for some added sound and low end feel. Has anyone heard of doing this or can I just get a recommend on good speakers to replace the stock ones. I already changed out the head unit. I like a nice loud stereo when the top is down. Thanks in advance.
i just have quality amp, door speakers, tweeters, and a small sub under the front seat- never had an issue, top down, at 85 MPH hearing the tunes. no need to do anymore in my '03.
there were OEM options for headrest speakers thru the various model years.

I put 3-way Kenwood rear speakers in my S2K (excuse the dirty pics taken just after installation
), it works well to get extra sound out of the system, and adds a nice balance of sound. I don't drive topdown tough. I have a Sony head unit (52x4) with Alpine Type R components in the doors.
I think you really need an amp to get better sound that will overcome topdown driving noise. I run the speed variable volume option with my Modifry DCI, which this car really needs.
