Default Heat From E-brake And Back Of Passenger Seat

Has any one noticed that heat from the engine and tranny comes from these places? Is there any way to stop the heat from coming?

I always notice a little heat coming from where my legs are. My passengers have noticed the same. I think it's pretty normal.

Heat convection from the E-brake area is quite normal since the area under your shifter is pretty close to tranny/exhaust piping.

As far as heat behind passenger seat, not quite sure what might be contributing to this.

Is the heat making things uncomfortable?

It's moderately uncomfortable, but if it's normal, I don't think that I am that concerned about it.

The exhaust pipe runs down that central tunnel and this car has minimal heat insulation. The infiltration of heat into the passenger compartment should come as no surprise. As for heat coming from behind the seat, this too, may be normal but just in case, check to see if you are missing any of the seat bolts. If one is gone, you will have a hole directly to the pavement and I suppose heat could come through there and make that area hotter than usual.

The area behind both the passenger and driver's seat, under the carpet, has extra padding and a vinyl shield, right where the floorpan turns vertically. In my soundproofing kit, I've left the shield, but eliminated the padding. The polymer that will go over the metal in that area insulates against both heat and sound.
I stuffed the area (actually layered) with acoustic foam. It helps with noise, but is a good insulator, too. How about that? Two problems fixed with one solution!
