Heat from FI on the F20
With all the forced induction kits starting to trickle into the market, I wanted to bring up the discussion about heat.
No doubt the F20 is an incredible engine, with hp/liter ratios that would make Ferrari jealous. But a byproduct to such a engine is heat. I've noticed the engine runs a lot hotter than previous VTEC engines and often suffers from heat soak. Try touching your fender after parking the car for 20 mins. Honda obviously programmed the ECU to be aggresive with timing and fuel mapping in these situations to ensure engine longevity.
Bring in Forced induction (additional 100hp) and the heat issue becomes a greater concern. Some comptech SC owners complain about the noticable drop in power once the engines starts to heat up. This wouldn't be a problem if one were building a drag car, but we all know the S2000 is a terrible drag platform and purposely built for road courses. How a boosted F20 might hold up on a race track is yet uncertain, at least from what I've read on this board.
Of course this is a big country, and the heat issue will vary depending on where you live. But I'm surprised there isn't more aftermarket products to upgrade the stock cooling systems., especially with FI kits popping up now.
I would love to hear what you guys think.

Read my review of the SC on a Road Course, click here.
I've never felt loss of power due to heat. Haven't read of others doing that either. I mostly hear speculation about the SC from non-owners. All of the SC owners love it.
