Heat from parking brake handle?
I have recently noticed that there is some warm air coming out from the base of the parking brake handle. I can feel it more when the windows are down (while top is up) and I guess that's because the air pressure is pulling this warm air out of it more. Is the parking brake that close to the tranny and all the heat it might create? What gives?
I also notice some heat coming from up under the steering column as if the fire wall doesn't hold the heat back completely. Is there a reason why they made this car so "airy"? I feel like I'm driving a block of swiss cheese!
And no, I do not have the heat on!

Brett,
I remember someone saying that our tranny generates quite a bit of heat and the insulation isn't that great or something.
As far as if you are wondering if something is wrong...don't worry, my car heats up from the middle console also, after a long drive.

When I'm driving for an extended period of time, it can get a little annoying because my legs get really hot from the heat that seeps in. Has anyone else noticed that if you drive for a while, park for about 20 min. then touch the shift knob or center console it's pretty warm? I just figured it's gotta be the heat from the engine and tranny.
