Default Heat Shield Gasket

How hard is it to install this?? Most of the shops charge $250-$300 for a $55 part. Is there a DIY on it??

It's time consuming and kind of a PITA. Took me and two friends 3 hours to do on my S. The braces underneath the intake manifold need to be removed in order to take it off, they are a bitch to get at! At the end I removed mine in case I ever have to do it again.

I would charge $200 to do it if I were to do it again.

To be honest... It was really a bitch to actually do. It took me about 2 and half hours. And those braces that hold the manifold they don't even tell you about them and the one intake manifold bolt thats hidden behind the what i belive was/is the coolant temp sensor, thats a bitch.

I wouldn't charge so much though to do it. id say about $150 and a 24 pack of miller lite.

its not that bad once you know some tricks. you dont need the long freaky extensions and swivels if you just remove the alternator and idler pulley/bracket. it opens up the area under the manifold so you can get in there.

I'm getting this done too but only because the head will be off the car. Recently bent a few valves.
