Default Heat wrap for intake?

Hey I have an intake setup similar to the spoon style but a custom one with all air box mods. I've seen some people put heat wrapping on the intake box?? What do you use and buy this at and cost? thanks!

Home Depot. Pipe or water heater insulating material. It comes in rolls of various lengths and widths. Comprised of an aluminum foil sandwich, with bubble wrap in between. Looks ugly as HELL, but works.

oops attach it to the airbox lid I mean, also I would probably wrap it around the hose I use to breather in cool air to my air box.

The 2004 spoon has an airbox which is covered in the same thing

with this. I used to have it, and man, was it ugly, but it kept the intake pipes really cool.

Silver, what intake do you have? I thought you just gutted the stock air box?

How about some more details on this since y'all seem to know, and I asked about it several days ago and did not get much feedback on the new 2004 Spoon setup.

Anyone have any more comments/thoughts on the heat wrap for intakes? It did not look (to me) like the 2004 Spoon S2K is using a snorkle-style intake...It looks kinda stock except for some kind of heat-wrap.

whew just got it done Took an hour or so of careful cutting and putitng it perfect and made sure evry visible area on the top and sides were covered. Thanks xviper I found the materials no prob

My intake box looks like a solar panel now

I used heat wrap which has the top in foilish stuff and bottom has an 1/8 inch thick of insulation material. I also cleaned out K&n with some strong and alot of small debris out while I was at it today.

It was actuallt pretty fun and the most consuming part is time but I'm sure my set up now is pretty efficient

Wish I had pics to show you guys the stuff I have had donefor my intake setup

Also I'm pretty sure this should be good besides it being logical with heat wrap and insulation to keep the heat out. If spoon does this as their setup then that also adds some gppd credibility
