Default Heated Seats

Has anyone attempted to or seen a kit to make our seats heated? Like possibly w/ a switch where the hardtop defroster controls go? Just wondering....

Nevermind this topic....unless someone has an inexpensive way of doing it. (I did a search and found some threads). I should have done that before I posted....

I found this site: http://autoskin.com/index.html

It looks like you might be able to add leather seats with heaters, don't know for sure since the website doesn't make it obvious, but there is a "heated seats" section.

I was shopping for the same a few years back. I think the price came to about $500 installed.

I was really keen on doing this a couple of years ago at the beginning of this car's first winter. Then the price kinda floored me plus I didn't like the idea of tearing the seats apart. My wife gave me a thick, black piece of sheep skin and this has worked just as well as previous heated seated I've had. And it gets "brass monkey" cold here.

Just make sure you're not under a tree or powerlines... I had a bird go poopy on my passenger seat once. The 105

$300-500 per seat is the price that I got so far. From what I understand, you can't even tell it's there. PM Tedster. He's from jerrypeterson's crew up in Seattle. He has them and is happy last I heard.

Although xviper's suggestion for a nice sheep skin does sound a little more practical.

Yeah, I had butt-heat installed for $400 total, both seats. I really like it, 'cause I like to drive top-down in almost all weather. A search should turn up my thread with pictures and details.

p.s. Jerry's part of my crew!

There is a guy in Charlottesville that installed seat heaters. PM Rodney rwr4a for details. I think he got the heaters out of an Acura and put them into his S .
