Heel Toe braking - Partiularly RHD models
For heel toe, are you finding toe on the brake or heel on the brake better?
It feels unnatural for me to turn my toe over that far, but I have to lift my foot up in order to use the heel.
Only had the car 6 weeks, and planning my first track session.

The steering wheel blocks my leg from rotating to use my heel on the gas. Instead, I put my foot on the right half of the brake and roll my foot to the right to blip the throttle.

I've generally heard that it's better to use your toe on the brake, and heel on the gas.
I really need to learn how to do this. I tried out out a bit around town a few months back, and honestly the entire motion still feels really awkward to me. Just practice practice practice, I guess.

I was able to do what solitarycheese did with rolling the foot in my Astra.
Also because it was a diesel, and had masses of torque I found left foot braking very useful.

You brake as you normally would and rotate your heel to blip the throttle. The only trick to heel toe shifting is that you must be HARD on the brakes. You can't do it casually around town. The less braking force you apply, the further apart your pedals are.

I also recently just did my first track session. It all became a lot easier and smoother when you go to track and press hard on brake. But I'm also learning HT on daily driving with no hard braking and smoother down shifting. Just daily drive it and do it every time you slow down. It will improve.
Good luck on your first track day! Be careful with the happy tail
