It's a troll. Buying a "manual" as your first car smells really fishy. Second, if his/her parents bought this kid a manual for his/her first car, they obviously want to "disappear" him legally, hahahaha.

But just on a small off chance that it is not a troll, I hope you know how to drive a manual, it is not at all like an automatic...just pointing out the obvious for those who obviously need it.

I agree he is probably a troll, but when you say it is unusual for a first car to b a manual, I have to take offense! I have owned over 20 different cars in my life thus far and I have never owned an automatic Although I am considering one for my daily commute. Somthin like a Geo Metro. Good on gas, automatic with A/C. That way I can use the S2000 for more of a fun toy!

Didn't mean to offend, but you have to agree, that "most" people tend to buy an automatic as their first car, as that is usually how they learned to drive. A manual is not easy for a first time driver. You having owned 20+ cars in your life, well, I would not consider you part of the majority of drivers. Heck, I drive manual and even have a motorcyle license, but my first car was still an automatic, a beater no less...Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera that my dad gave me...it was a POS, but hey, I was young and had a ride, so it was all good!
I learned to drive on a manual, never owned an automatic either.

Automatics are the devil and show how lazy we have become..

Everyone should learn how to drive a manual, this way you get to learn how the ****in car works, not just put the stick on D and go!

I agree, even if all you drive is an automatic and could care less about standard/manual, that's fine, but at least learn to drive one. Why? Because 25% of the cars out there are manuals in the USA, and that's also where all the nice sports car are. Secondly, if you ever vacation in Europe, something like 60 to 75% of the cars in Europe are manuals...it is totally reversed. And finally, you never know when you might run into an emergency where you need to drive a manual. It would suck to have the car, but not be able to drive it whe you really need to get somewhere fast. Besides, if you know how to drive a manual, you shouldn't have too much problems with understanding how to ride a motorcyle as it is the same concept, but in different locations.

That's the thing about the S, because it only comes in manual, it rules out a lot of wannabes as you either know or learn to drive manual or not drive it at all. Makes it more of car for those that truly love to drive, not posers.
No offense taken. I guess I am just one of those rare breeds!? I was racing NSR's when I was 13 and my very first street vehicle when I turned 16 was an '95 CBR-600. Two months later I bought my first car. A '91 Mustang GT 5.0 with a 5speed! Fun high school car. But unlike this spoiled little tool, I had to buy, maintain, fix, and insure all my own vehicles. My parents figured it would teach me some values. I say they were too cheap! Thanks alot Mom and Dad! hehehe
