Default I can only start using the "engine start button"

Engine start button seems to be my only method of turning the car over. It won't let me turn over using the key. When the key is in, dash lights up, EPS light stays on but when it turns over, EPS light is off and stays off. But I can't turn it over with the key, kind of like being blocked from the III position. Any ideas. New to the S2000.

That's how it works. The key turns to the II position and you push the button.

Didn't know. This is my first engine button type car. I've been used to driving a DX model.

You're not turning the key hard enough.

Kidding.

the s2000 is unique in this way.....out of the thousands of cars i have drove, i believe this to be one of the only ones that you have to turn a key and then press a button.

Hmmmm! Sounds like a dealer issue. Something to do with the fusebox and a relay. The fetzer diode if I remember right. I would have it towed driving it could be bad.

Good Luck!

Have you tried a 4 foot breaker bar on the key? I hear it needs quite a bit of torque to turn it to the cranking position.
