Help in Buying a s2000
Check with a credit union. A lot of banks wont finance a car thats over 10 years old. I managed to get Meriwest Credit Union to finance the purchase of my S2000. Mind you my credit score was in the low 700s so it wasnt fantastic by any means. Just most banks dont want to take the risk on a car this old.
Did you put any money down? I also have a credit union that was here and told me if I could improve my score I could do it through them. They were hesitant because of my age and credit history being so short. I hope the prices don't go up though on these honda's and with time they will get rarer sigh. Well we will have to see what to do! Build that credit up high and do it that way I guess,

2) I can't justify taking out a loan to buy a toy. Don't get me wrong, I love my S2000 but there is zero utility, nor is it a car I'd use every single day. I was quite firm on both my budget, condition of the car, and absolutely zero chance of financing it.
Don’t pressure yourself too much. I actually think that the S2000 market has levelled off as of late, possibly even trending somewhat downward. Looking at other S2000 listings on the CarGurus site it is interesting to see just how many of them are tagged as good deals below market value (you didn’t see many listings like this a year or two ago). It appears to me that some dealers/individuals are possibly being forced to drop their asking prices in order to move these cars without a buying frenzy in place.
Could be a regional thing, but the prices over the last few months makes me feel incredibly grateful for the price I paid for my car. Even salvaged titles are going well above $10,000. Which is ridiculous to me.
Salvage title cars have been selling for that kind of money for quite a while now here and elsewhere. I am looking more at sites like Car Gurus, Autotrader, BaT, etc.. I am not talking about a major shift in pricing but the persistent rise in prices over the last three years or so seems to have taken a break. That is a good thing for anyone considering getting into one of these cars. And yes, prices do tend to drop in the winter, as does availability to some degree.
I tried light stream before but I'm going to try to raise my score even higher if I can. Maybe a bit longer credit history. I love those cars though and I'm single and have like no kids so I get it might not be the most spacious car but I don't mind at all its the drive thats fun! And thanks guys for the extra information. I'm glad it's steady right now but yeah I forget it's almost winter time too so lets see what happens!!! Next year hopefully I'm lucky
