Default Help With Comptech CAI Filter

Wondering if someone could please help, I tried seach but no answers came up.

I have the comptech intake and I would like to purchase a new filter. I looked on the K&N website, but they do not sell a 5.5 inch inside diameter filter.

Can someone please tell me what filter/place/website they have purchased a replacement from.

Thanks guys.

I take it you don't want another one of the filters supplied by comptech?

Why do you feel you must have a K&N?

thanks for all of the responses.

I have had K&N filters in all of my other cars, and love them.

If someone could give me some expert advice whether the paper K&N or foam Comptech is a better filter.

Any companies/sites I would help as well.

Any tips on how to wash?

Thanks guys!

K&N's are not paper. They are cotten gauze. Both K&N and the foam type of filters like Comptech work very well. There are pros and cons for each but not enough to make a huge difference.
You can look at this thread for a site for a size that might work:

AFE makes a larger filter that fits in the Comptech box. It is identical construction as the K&N, just different color. I replaced mine with it. I think the number is AFE-5702???

Did I get .00001hp out of it for the $50 I spent? Probably not... but psychological peace of mind is enough for me.
