IMO, UNI foam filters (filter supplied by Comptech in their intake kit) are a very poor design. They let in more dirt particles and flow less than the cotton gauze filters made by AFE and K&N. I personally put an AFE filter in my Comptech box and am very happy with it.

AFE makes a larger filter that fits in the Comptech box. It is identical construction as the K&N, just different color. I replaced mine with it. I think the number is XXXXXXXX???
Did I get .00001hp out of it for the $50 I spent? Probably not... but psychological peace of mind is enough for me.

on a semi related note, anyone have the sizing for the screws used to bolt in the Comptech CAI lid? I lost most of mine over time...
just take it to home depot and use their measuring things in the hardware section. 90 cents later, youre all set!
I gave up and just called Comptech. Got them a few days later in the mail.
I also suggested to Comptech that they include lock washers in their hardware packet to prevent this exact thing.....but as usual noone listens to me......just like my girlfriend.
