Help! Going crazy at COMDEX in Las Vegas...
Well, I was watching the local Las Vegas news last night, and I swear I sas a PhatBox (www.phatnoise.com) installed in a red honda s2000 in a story about the COMDEX show. I was going crazy looking all over the show today hoping to take some pix, but I couldn't find it. I called PhatNoise, and they didn't know of an install being shown at COMDEX. Does anyone know about this car and what booth it is actually in? My last day here is tomorrow, and I'd like to check out the install....
So, how is Comdex this year. I read that the new rules prohibit people bringing laptops into the exhibit halls. Just thought it was funny that you couldn't bring a laptop to a computer tradeshow.
I saw the red S2K at Comdex. It was rented from Dream car rentals. The show this year was weak. According to the media, attendance was down 33%. The number of exibitors was down also. They did not need Sands Expo. The last few years, it took me 2 - 3 days to cover the show. It took me about 8 hrs this year. Techdrive was enjoyable though.
too late for you now, but the phatbox was displayed at the Toshiba booth as we provide them with the hard drives for their system. don't know about anywhere else...
i was one of the original beta testers for this product and it is quite impressive to say the least. i have over 700 songs in my car right now and am only about at a third of capacity. the thing works extremely well...downside is that you kenwood is the only aftermarket head unit supported right now. my drive out to vegas for the show was entertaining. the unit works by 'tricking' the head unit into thinking that you have a gigantic cd changer. so it would display 'disc 58, track 70' for example. i installed mine under the driver seat. you won't be able to move your seat forward, but i don't care as i don't let anyone drive my car...
highly recommended.
