Default HELP HELP HELP - Will this work?

I just had my Ividia V1 installed today at lunch and read threads about exhausts melting bumpers if they touch. Im at work and get off in an hour - if I stuff some heavy folded paper in there between the tips and bumper will it get me to Autozone and home (6 miles ~15 minutes)?!?

Edit: Ok so that might catch on fire and be even worse.. Lets think - I have microfiber towels in the trunk - tucking one between the exhaust/bumper?

Why is it touching the bumper? Was it installed incorrectly? It's pretty rare for an exhaust to melt it, it does happen, but rarely and after long drives.

I'm sure you are fine for 6 miles. It doesn't melt that easily.

Personally I wouldn't put anything there, common sense kinda tells you this. A wet towel is not going to be wet long after a 15 min drive. The bumper is not a candle, it's meant to handle heat right next to the exhaust tips.

Since the Invidia exhaust doesn't come with exhaust hangers I used the factory 3". I think I need a 4" - which I will bep picking up tonight.

What rear bumper are you running? I got new exhaust hangers today on the way home - corrected the problem - and my bumper didn't melt - now to tackle this damn CEL... That test pipe has a de-fouler that came with it but it obviously doesn't work.

I'm currently on stock rear bumper (AP1)... Oh and btw, my de-fouler never worked, I'm running a Comptech O2 eliminator which works great.

if it's installed properly, it shouldn't rub on the rear bumper, and if it doesn't rub on the rear bumper, it shouldn't melt it. i had one for about 6 months, drove it hard all the time and i always checked--never did anything to the bumper
