my maint reg'd light is on!. how do i turn it off without going to the dealer?

push and hold the trip button, turn the ignition switch ON (II), and continue holding the trip button for more than 10 seconds.

Just for future reference you can go to the Library tab. There are answers to a lot of FAQ's. Just used it to find out how to reset the ECU / Check Engine light.
