help on maintanance light

Default help on maintanance light
i had my car serviced by my friend's dad who is a mechanic, but he didn't shut the maintanance light off.
how do i get rid of it?

key off, push and hold trip button, turn key to on position and continue to hold trip button till maint light goes out (10-15 seconds maybe, it'll seem like a long time)
