Help! I have a small split in the top of my roof
Hi. There is a small split in the upper part of my roof, on the passenger side, just behind where one of the cross pillars is. This is not the typical roof wear hole issue. This spit occurs on the top part of the roof only. This part of the roof seems a little stiff and dry, although I have used 303 regularly. What is the best way to handle this, aside from paying for a new roof? My S is a 2006.
Post pictures if you can. That will help us identify whether it is the frame or something else that caused the wear/tear.
As for patching it, make your way to nearest marine store and buy a vinyl repair kit. You can also order from amazon.
Clear Liquid Vinyl Sealant

Tear Aid Type B Vinyl Repair

Here is what I did and suggest you do:
1. Use the clear liquid vinyl sealant to seal the tear. Follow the instructions closely.
2. Once you have allowed for the liquid sealant to harden, use the TYPE-B Tear Aid patch and patch the tear from the inside of the car (under side of the soft top). This way you add another layer of protection to the area that is damaged.
Hope this helps you and good luck
If your car is still under warranty, you may want to reach out to the dealer to request a repair under warranty coverage.

Thanks for the links and the quick reply. I'll follow your good advice. Good prices for both items. Beats buying a new roof. These items may be handy for additional small tears in the future as well. Thanks again.
