Default Help! I need to sell my S2k and need advice

This is my first post to this forum and need advice. (I hope I'm in the right section.) For numerous reasons, I need to sell my 2001 red S2k. Could you all give me some advice on how to sell it without sticking it to me in the shorts but at the same time not being unrealistic to the buyer. The dealer here in Lubbock said they might sell it on consignment but would have to check. Our town is about 200,000 people and they are approximately 10 S2k's around that I've seen. If I put it in the paper, I'll get a bunch of 18 year old "Test drivers" or financially unqualified people that I don't want to let test drive. It is Brandon B's red 2001 (see previous forum) with the following options: Hardtop (only one in this area), upgraded speakers with Pioneer amplifier, Titanium shifter, side strakes, front spoiler, cleared front corners, Rick's badges and brake paint (red). It has 18500 miles and has been garaged sinced purchased. Could you give me any ideas on what I should ask for $$, how long it could be on the market, where to sell. (Ebay?, dealer?, newspaper? trade it in?) Thanks in advance for your help. John

how far is the nearest "big" ciy? (fort worth maybe?)
might require some travel, but you would have a larger audience to draw qualified buyers from.
in any case you will go through some bums who just want to test drive your car. try to screen them and qualify them when they call... you need a list of questions to ask them. if they flunk your test, dont make arrangements with them to see the car-
you will get the most money by selling it yourself, but it will be more work than trading it in too.

I'm about 300 miles from DFW, the closest million plus city. I'm having to unload it because of my size (6'4" 210lbs and age 45). I love the car alot but I feel like pretzel boy when I fold myself into it and I also have 3 cars-->this is my back up. Thanks for the info. What about consignment at one of those sports car only dealers?
