Help... on IAT & Launching....
I just received G-tech to test couple of things. When I was trying to launch my s2k in vtec range, RPM just drops to 3,000 RPM and it just starts slow. Ovboiusly, I do have problem with lauching skill - I have new respect for drag racers now
- but even after many trys, tire is not spinning as it's described in other threads. Instead, it would just drop to 3,000 RPM. My friend tried as well but same result.
So I browsed forum for new information and I found information about intake air temperature. It seems that IAT is about ~ 10F above ambient temperature but mine runs between 30 ~ 60F more. would it have affect on performance? Is it why I cannot launch properly?
there's a good thread on temperature recently by xviper.
Recorded underhood temps.- session 1
Would IAT differ from his measurements?
If you have OBDII scan tool, what was your IAT compare to ambient temperature?
Thanks in advance. cheers,

It sounds like you may not be releasing the clutch properly and letting the clutch slip. For a good launch, you have to let the clutch pedal come up by itself after you slide your left foot off to the side. The pedal should snap back to its normal position and you should be going forward and looking for 2nd gear...
Do a search on "clutch dumps", "launching", or "drag strip" for more opinions.
