Help, interested in buying a s2000
I found a 2005 GPW for sale. He's selling it for $16,500 with 23,000 miles.
When i called him I asked if there was anything mechanically wrong, dents, scratches etc. and he said everything was fine and everything was original.
Before I go to check out the car, could anyone help me with things I should check?
I already thought of checking soft top, engine bay, going for a test drive and interior. But I can't seem to think of anything else to check, any help is appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

I understand that AP2's usually cost more thats why I'm asking for help on things I should check up on.
When I called him, I made sure to confirm the price and the year.
Can anyone else offer advice?

pop the hood and trunk open and look at the bolts holding the fenders. if it looks like theres sigs of wear on the edges of the bolts, its possible that body work was done to it. another way to find out is that all the body panels should have a sticker on it. look for them. carefully look at the paint for any kind of oddities. its possible that it may have been repaired without being reported to insurance so it wouldn't show up in a carfax report. good luck. if its legit it would be the deal of a lifetime. sorry for the grammar...I'm typing thia on my pda.

When I was shopping for an S found one that scratchs on the inside of the hood. Obviously a poor mounted intake. Did they have mods done and swap back over to stock? Who performed the mod a competent person or shade tree mechanic?? If they did have some mods, they probably liked to push the car. (We all do
)Just something to think about whenever you buy a car that people like to add things to.

Thanks for the advice guys. It turns out the guy forgot to mention that it had a salvaged title during our phone conversations. He just said that the car had everything original and in perfect condition.
He was nice enough to tell me when I was on the way and wanted to confirm the address.
Good news is that I had other cars I wanted to look at and found a 2002 NFR with 15XXX miles for 17,200.
