It's spring time now. Can't you just reach in through the open top?! Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

On most cars (every one I've had something stolen from) thieves use something to pry the top of the window away from the frame, get a good grip on the window and pull it away enough for someone with narrow arms to reach in and unlock the door. When thieves do it, the window doesn't seal properly afterwards. I did it once to get into my camry and the window was fine afterwards. Try this at you own risk on the S!

djohnston...what you said is true, but ive noticed that if i lock the doors, then come back, unlock them, open the door to get something, and close it again, the doors lock!

Funny thing is, it doesnt happen all the time?!?!

I think its a setting on the factory alarm mine has a setting to auto lock the doors and turn the alarm on. Just get the vin number and go to a honda dealer they can look up the vin and make you a key.

I have an 02, all stock, no alarm. It does auto lock itself.

I never heard of such a thing on an S2000
Maybe your car has an alarm ?
You can probably wedge in a coat hanger through the window molding.to fish the lock open, but it wont be easy.

I'd call a tow truck .

Or perhaps a locksmith.

They have all the latest slim Jims.

Locksmiths can do wonders these days

Don't forget to bring proof opf ownership.

A locksmith might be able to help as well

Thanks for all your replies guys. Guess how I finally got it opened. Called the locksmith. They couldn't for the life of them flip the switch with the hanger. My keys happened to be sitting face up on my seat. The guy looked at it, cut a new key on the spot in about 30 seconds and opened the door. Quite disturbing if you ask me.

I have an '00 and it does exactly what SAIYAJIN says... If you open the doors with the remote and do not put the keys in the ignition the doors will lock by themselves after a period of time.

I have never heard of this either. Can you give us the details of how/when this "auto lock" happens?

The only "auto lock" I am aware of is what djohnston said: The only time my doors auto-lock is if I unlock them using the remote, then don't physically open them, 30 seconds later they lock. But on the other hand, SAIYAJIN is not from the USA, so maybe they have different setups.
