Default HELP: Light Clicking Noise, Inside Cabin, Below and to the left of Driver's side

I hear it mostly going over bumpy roads...Almost sounds as if it is the retractable seat belt mechanism..have looked all over (and endless searching on this board..haha)...

Anybody got any ideas?

TIA - james

Maybe you got a loose internal wire hitting the wall?

On my '02, the passenger side window rattles when it's all the way down. If I roll up the window very slightly (it doesn't even have to be up enough to be visible), then the rattling stops.

Offhand, this doesn't really sound like the same problem, but maybe it's worth a quick look. Try rolling up your window just a tiny bit (a quick tap on the power window lever is sufficient), and see if the noise persists.

This may sound totally off the wall, but I had a similar noise for a long time, and could never find it. I finally found that it went away when I apply some Shin Etsu (sp?) grease on the rubber V shaped piece that is attached to the door jam. on the latch side. I didn't make since to me because the sound I was hearing was more metallic I thought, but it did go away. It may not be what your hearing, but it's worth a shot.

I sometimes hear it too. I heard it tonight. It sounds like the seatbelt rubbing against the seat where it comes through the latch on the seat. It almost sounds like two pieces of leather rubbing on each other. I'm going to check it again tomorrow. It is definately related to the seat.

this problem has been brought up several times on this board and so far no one has figured out the reason for it. i've just learned to live with mine. i've just accepted that convertible tops and bumpy roads in general are bad combos.

I investigated a noise similar to what you describe and found that the little post for the convertible top boot to the left of the driver's seat was loose. The one that the elastic strap attaches to on the driver's side.
