Help me buy my s2k!
I can't decide which is a better buy between two 01 s2k.
Both s2k are 01's ap1 ;]
First car description
2001 Honda S2000 convertible 74K miles. Red exterior/black interior. Experience power and luxury, turn heads, and feel the wind in your hair as you put the top down and cruise down the road on a beautiful New England day. Upgraded to new top with glass rear window instead of plastic 11/06. Alarm, Lo Jack, Premium Kenwood Single CD AM/FM stereo with IPOD set up to play and charge. Remote control so you can select music options without distraction. Satellite ready. Ice cold A/C. Alloy wheels and high performance tires that hug the road beautifully. Car runs great and has had all scheduled maintenance performed by Herb Chambers Honda in Burlington. 27 mpg combined driving. Paint looks good and there is no rust on the car. Every thing is in great condition including the black leather bucket seats. The car has never been in an accident. New auxillary turn signal lights and wheel alignment done the end of May.
PRICE - $12,500 i could prob talk him down to 12,000 because i asked him if he would sell it to me for 11,800 and he said yes but then something changed his mind. He set the price up to 13,500 and backed it down to 12,500.
Second s2k description
Runs excellent, looks spectacular! Black exterior with red leather interior. 45k miles, with Mobil 1 every 3k. Power roof, windows, locks, mirrors, trunk, CD player, push button start, digital dash, HID headlights, and keyless entry. This is the nicest car I have ever driven. If you know these cars, you know they are incredible. With 240hp at 27mpg and a 9,000rpm redline linked to a six-speed manual, this is the sport car to own with today's gas prices. This is one of the most agile cars on the road!
RED LEATHER SEATS KEEP IN MIND =] "Does not have glass window"
PRICE $ 15,500
If i plan on getting the red s2k i'm going to have money left over and prob buy some rims and coil overs off this guy on our forums. His selling
- KWv3 coilovers with less than 3000 miles on them. $1375
17x8 Front & 17x9 Rear Work VS-XX wrapped in Falken Azenis rt-615 with less than 500 miles on them. $2300
- Kics r26 lug nuts $140 (if the wheels sell)
So i can't really decide on what to do. If i buy the black s2k, I won't have any money left over to mod the car until for a long time.
What would you guys do?

Don't put all the money you have into the car. Remember you are buying a used car and there is potential that you may need some maintinance. Remember you are buying a sports car and as such has more expensive parts compaired to a Civic.

If these are your only two options, I'd probably go towards the first one, assuming the engine was well maintained. Initially, I was going to recommend looking for an '02 on the basis of the glass rear window, but this one has that as an upgrade. I wouldn't buy one with a plastic rear window - that's why I waited for the '02 model year before purchasing mine new.
I'd also hold off a couple of months before you jump into mods. Get to know the car first. Make sure you don't slide it into a curb, or wrap it around a tree. Not saying anything bad will happen to you, but some people have done it. Hurts no matter what, but it hurts more when you've also thrown away $4k in mods.

pick whichever one you want. Just make sure you're happy with it. A red car definitely stands out differently from a black one.
One thing to keep in mind on the red one, see if they cut the car's harness to install the radio, or if they used a proper adapter.
I'd break it down into:
Pros for the red one:
lower price
glass top that's pretty much new
dealer serviced with records
Pros for going with the black one:
Kept stock
Much lower mileage
Mobil1 every 3k may indicate someone who takes better than average care of their car.
Personally, I'm a Silverstone guy and color is an important aspect of the purchase so I'd look for the color before looking at mileage and specs.

I'd get the first one because i love the black/ red color combo. Also, the car has 30,000 less miles.
Can you afford $60 extra dollars per month? If so, then get the one with 45,000 miles.
It's not just the miles, it's the wear and tear on the car. Seats will be less worn, suspension less used, engine has less wear. Interior is probably a bit cleaner. Rims probably look better.
I'd definately get the 45,000 mile one.
