Default Help me decide which lowering springs please.

In the next couple of weeks I'm going to be getting a set of 18" wheels.

I had my mind set on KG/MM race springs but now I'm thinking the 35mm (1.3-4" drop) will be too low and will cause the new wheels/tires to rub.

So now I'm trying to find something that will lower the car AT LEAST 1". I know Eibach spring lower about an inch but I'm not to sure about the ride.

I don't want the ride to get softer. I am putting DOT race tires on the stock wheels and taking it to the track. I'm not looking for a "street" spring.

Thanks

JT

Why lower the car? Are you required to because of the new wheels? I'm looking to get 17" wheels myself, but I don't want to lower anything. Am I incorrect when saying that no springs are needed? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

your not required to lower it... mainly for looks so there isnt a fender gap between your tires and rims... i admit it looks much better without a fender gap, especially with larger size rims 17..18... but when you lower it with a rim that size, your then gonna open yourself to another world of problems like tire wear due to camber etc...

I used H&R Sport Springs for the track and it lowered it like 3/4 of an inch all around! It looks great and handles even better!

The ride almost like stock, no bounce at all. My wheels, which I just sold, had a custom offset and didn't even rub with 265/35-18's on the rear. My 19x10 shouldn't be a problem at all either.

I installed the Tanabe GF-210's two weeks ago. I'm very satisfied with the ride, perofmance and the looks.
