I had the tsb work on the clutch last week. (you may recall I'm the one who ended up with all the dents from the dealer)

On my way home from michigan my tranny let go of it's fluid while I was running with an IS300. I was throwing smoke like crazy and tranny fluid was all over the car. I was towed to my house.

My questions are as follows.
1. How can I trust the dealer will fix it right this time?
2. Do I have the right to have a Honda rep present?
3. can the dealer see how fast I was going when it blew, and will that even matter??

What would you guys do?

Thanks in advance.

Hey lako,

Wow, this sounds eerily similar to what happened to me. Mine didn't blow like yours did, but I was leaking tranny fluid and they told me it was a small seal right behind the transmission that was the cause. It didn't take them pulling apart the trans to fix it. But your problem seems worse!

First, I would find out what the real culprit is. Honda tells the dealers to use the same gaskets and seals that are originally in there. That's what my dealer blamed it on. I still think the tech should have checked them before blindly using them, but what to do. My car seems fine now though.

Also, a Honda rep caused me from definitely not being able to go to S2K days last week, but that is a long story. And I doubt the dealer will be able to tell how fast you were going.

ERIK

I'm sure it's the tranny because the engine is full of oil.
I would hate to think that the joker than worked on it and dented my car up didn't tighten the drain bolt tight enough.
