Please, its VTEC. Sounds like your car is not warmed up when ur hitting 6K rpm's. The temp. guage needs 3 bars to exceed 6,000 rpm's. Good luck.

If the car is low on oil it won't VTEC. Check your oil or you may be buying an engine. 1Fast99Si is correct also.

VTECH? take it back to that store you bought it at. those phones can be troublesome some times.

now if you were talking about vtec and your s2000, you need to allow it to warm up first

3 possible suspects, two have already been mentioned.

1. Engine Temp
2. Low oil
3. Faulty Vtec silinoid

See if you've got a dipstick in your F20C. Many of the S2000 engines came with one as standard equipment. If you've got one, check it and let us know what it says.

If your engine has a normal oil level and if your engine still doesn't reach 9000 rpm in a smooth manner when warm, you've got a more complicated problem. The VTEC solenoid, the MAP sensor, aftermarket headers, bad fuel and many, many other factors will cause the car to avoid switching to the higher rpm cam profile.

Is your "check engine" light on? Is it flashing?
