Default Help, need advice on clutch?

Hi everyone,
I want to change my clutch out and i particularly want the ACT street clutch. But what i am asking is do i need the release bearing, pilot bearing, and alignment tool? Because the packages on ebay only offer pressure plate and clutch disc. So is it necessary for me to purchase the release bearing, pilot bearing and alignment tool? Thanks

The labor is very intensive on a clutch change. That being so, you generally change EVERYTHING out to be safe. It would suck if you put in just a new clutch and pressure plate and 20k miles later the clutch is still fine but the throw-out bearing goes bad. As cheap as they are (compared to the pressure plate and clutch) do them all at once.

I have the hardtopguy kit and I LOVE it. It is an ACT pressure plate with an OEM friction disk. You also have the option for a lightweight flywheel. It is honestly the perfect mix for all N/A cars and even some mild to moderate boosted cars. The ACT pressure plate provides a lot more grab than stock, and you don't need anything other than the OEM friction (clutch) disk. No point in putting more uneccesary stress on the drivetrain. You can get the throw-out and pilot bearings from him in his kit. www.hardtopguy.com - The ACT street clutch is just a re-worked OEM disk anyway . . . the ACT pressure plate will make a big differance.

Whichever way you go, the answer is yes you want to change the bearings as well.

Okae thanks for the info, that explains why the ebay ACT clutch kits are lesser then hardtopguys clutch kit since they dont include the release bearing, pilot bearing, and alignment tool. Would you know off hand how much the following are release bearing, pilot bearing, and alignment tool? Also in hardtopguys kit is it the HS1-HDSS, ACT kit? Thanks for all your help.
