Default Help! need dealer info on buying a 02' S2000

Hi guys, I am planning to get a 02' S2K. Does anyone here in CA have any idea or suggestion where I can get a good deal? I am currently at Los Angeles; yet, I will be relocating back to Bay Area in a month. Should I wait til I settle or get it in LA? I heard that there is much better deal in LA than in Bay Area, is that true? And how much I am looking to pay? Oh, I like the white/red or silver/red combination. How hard is it to get the white/red combo since there will not be one next year according to this forum. Anyway, thanks in advance for your help...

Do it all over the internet. You should be able to get it for MSRP at least. I personally bought mine in Montclair. $33100 with a few extra goodies.

I've visited a few Honda dealerships in the Bay Area over the last 6 months: Menlo Honda, Grace Honda, San Francisco Honda and Oakland Honda.

Markups of $5,000 over MSRP are common. I thought Grace Honda with its $10,000 markup was the undisputed champion but then someone on this board remarked that they had seen similar premiums elsewhere! Whatever.

These are just sticker prices, which means there should be room for negotiation. Someone at SF Honda told me I could have an S2000 at MSRP but I was not in a position to test his assertion. I had already made a deposit on one well outside of the Bay Area.

If you search the Bay Area forum, you might find testimonials from people who have actually succeeded in getting good deals around here but you could not predict that from the stickers I have seen.

i heard from Cerritos Norm Reeves honda superstore that they'd be willing to sell at MSRP a few times.

FYI, a member just bought a new red MY2002 in the Bay Area for $500 under MSRP.

Thanks for all your helps guys. I was just wondering if the price for Mugen's Carbon Fiber hardtop is pretty much standard at $5k or there is a place to get it cheaper.
