the question im asking is how should i paint the bulbs to hide the amber. and which paint should be used on smoked diffusers?

I am telling you man, PM W1ngman. He did that exact thing with mine... Used a strip of tape and silver spray paint. You can't really see any amber in my headlights.....and it is perfectly legal because it still blinks amber when I put the turn signals on.

I think I was first to do this, around two and a half years ago.

It's simple - just spray a thin coat of silver paint over the lens, around 10 secs of spraying per bulb is sufficient. If you find it is still a little orange then spray some more on. The bulb doesn't need to be perfect as you can't see the detail inside the lens..

The trick is not to spray too much such that you lose a lot of brightness from the bulb. If you do overspray though then simply use paint solvent (turps) to clean it off and start again.

Total cost - $2 for spray can, total effort - around 15 minutes for 4 bulbs.
