Well, if it were me, I wouldn't buy something that is imcomplete in any aspect. Retrofitting a CAI with two different name brands is a huge no, unless you want furthur problems with the engine (from debris entering the intake and getting into your engine). My suggestion would to calm down, give that intake back that you bought from your friend, and save your money for a COMPLETE kit. Do some research on this, and find out which intake is right for what you want. Give this car the time and thought it deserves.

white,

No problem here, I think the K&N is what's on the CAI you just picked up anyway. Most of the hoses you'll need come directly from your engine bay anyway, so don't fret. I think you may need some 6mm hose, but don't quote me on that (can't remember the size, but it's a thin hose). The piping is standard 3", so get some metal clamps from the local hardware store, and your local AutoZone will have the tubing. I think the extra tubing is for the one-way valve to the exhaust recirculation pump.

I had to do the same. I had to buy the silicon hose for the crank case breather, they only sold it in 10 ft sections=$16.

I would buy a few feet of vacuum hose $3.00

The only other hose you need is the one for the coolant line, about 15 inches to allow for trimming. Any place that sells heater hose will have this.

no matter what filter you use, you're gonan get debris and other shit entering the intake and getting into your engine.

I have a CAI, and havn't found this to be true. What are you talking aout, I'm a bit concerned. My take on the filter is that nothing bigger than the micron rating of the filter will get in.
