Hello Everybody,

I have been wanting a s2000 for awile and finally have some funds to buy one.

I would like for you guys to give me your opinions on the s2000 I want to buy.

2000 Honda S2000 48K
This car stands out!!!!!! Hot Red on Black leather Roadster. Immaculate shape, less than 48k miles. Beautiful car, drives like a dream. Car Professionally Maintained with Mobile 1 Full Synthetic changed every 3,000 miles. Garage kept. Power roof--6 speed manual--Big alloy wheels

 

Looks decent and good price. What mods has he done to the car besides the hood and rims we can see? I would ask if he still has the stock hood and rims because I like it better that way. If he has done engine mods, I might stay away from it....Mostly likely the owner has beated on the car.
If you havent test drove it, you should go ahead and do that if the owner lets you. But if he has nothing to hide, he should let you without a problem. There was a TSB for the clutch grind for that year, so check if that was fix as you drive.
As I've said, good price, low miles for a 2000, just check on the minor details because there important as well. If I missed anything, feel free to add on my fellow S2KI'ers. Good luck with the purchase...

Now that ive looked around, id rather find one with less miles and stock (or at least tasteful mods).

I do not like the hood, and he dont have the stock one.

Also i found a black 00 S2k with 22k miles for $17k....so i think $2k more for half the miles is worth it.

I will continue to look, so if any owners are selling there S2k near NY please let me know.

If I can suggest, look at the 02+ models. Alot of the little minor changes happens by then. Better changes... Glass window w/defroster, clutch grind fixed, and better gearbox. And you still get the 9K for 02-03 years. . Good luck again but I would definitely choose those years especially for the glass window. The plastic becomes a huge issue as it wears and most likely replacing it with a glass top anyway. Again, good luck with your purchase....
