Default Help with researching COILOVERS!

I've been looking at different coilovers sets for a little while now, but I can never seem to get straight comparisons or true opinions on the different products out there. Hopefully a few people will chime in here to give some better information.

This is what I'm looking to get out of them:

1. I drive my car pretty aggressively on the street - I do every group drive I can - aggressive pace
2. This is a daily driver, but I go through rear tires almost every 5,000 miles
3. If I want to slam the car for a show, I'd like to be able to do that
4. Ocassional AutoX and maybe a track day or two for fun (not competition....yet)

My biggest concern is handling, followed by looks, but ride stiffness isn't a huge concern.

Because I won't be racing so much, I don't see a need to spend over $2,000 on a set - so I'm looking at Teins and Buddy Clubs mainly, but would like to hear about H & R, Zeal, and JIC too - and anything else in that price range.

Thanks in advance!

i have the BC racing spec's.

i have no experience with the other brands you mention.

but, the BC's are awesome. the ride is not harsh (set to 8F/8R)....body roll is almost non-existent.....the car handled really well on a recent track day during dry sessions (in the wet, i should have adjusted them to get more rear grip, but i didn't). the car doesn't bounce or shudder over dips and bumps.

a fellow toronto owner drove my car last night (i just had it aligned)....he was shocked as to how well it handled AND felt. he said it was confidence inspiring. the more throttle you give, the more it grips.....you start looking for ways to make the back-end kick out. it's firmly planted.

steering response and feel is much improved as well.

I wanna hear responses on this too since I'm just as curious as Poindexter and find myself asking the same questions

A few more questions for owners of these setups:
  • How many miles do you get before a rebuild is needed?
  • How well do the coilovers stand up to the weather? Any signs of corrosion after a few thousand miles?
  • How is the customer support? Good? Bad? Nonexistent?
  • If you had a chance to switch to something else, would you?

Tein RA's are perfect for what you want. I've heard of people having rubbing issues with the a-arm while using the buddy clubs.
