Default HELP!!! Some idiot keyed my car!

Hello S2kers,

About 3 weeks ago, my S2K got keyed by some idiots while I was at the movie theater. As I was opening the passenger side door for my wife, I noticed a long streak scratch made by a some sort of sharp object. As I looked in disgust and shock, I wanted to kick the Fu*ken moron who did this. HOW CAN SOMEONE SO EVIL DO SUCH A THING??? I don't even have any enemies! Now I know not to ever bring my S2K to any large public area at night. Now after 3 weeks, I just bought the Silverstone Metallic touch-up paint for my car so I can try to cover up the 12 inch wavy scratch on the front-passenger side on top of the wheel base. If anyone has done this before, this is not an easy task.

*** Does anyone have any idea on how to cover up the scratch without repainting it??? (Don't suggest Gs-27 because that crap doesn't work!) THANKS!

I regard these bastards as mini-terrorists. They envy not only the perfection of your baby, but also your ability to own her. Since they will never be able to own an automobile of such exquisite beauty, they want to **** it up for everybody else. Just believe in your heart that their day will come. Maybe not today, or tomorrow, but someday. I wish them a lifetime membership in the FFA (Future Felons of America).

If you wet the area and the scratch disappears its just damage to the clear coat. Thats an easy fix any shop can do. Otherwise they blend in the color to fix it.

Sorry to hear about this.

As you can see, I've been there, and I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but the above scratch and some small panel damage on the right resulted in a respray

I'd try to either wax the scratch out first, or use some rubbing compound. If it's too deep, you're probably just going to have to get it repainted. The touch up paint will just make the scratch look worse, especially if it is a big scratch.

Sucks taht it happened. I hate people that do this. This is one of the reasons why I kept my old car around. To take it to places that I don't feel safe parking he S2K at.

I'm sorry that this happened to you. I read these threads a few weeks ago about a product called Scratch Out. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...ight=scratchout

Seems like amartin and rstark may have some good info about removing scratches...I believe amartin also has a product from Germany that supposedly works just as well or better. If Scratch Out doesn't work for you, you might try contacting him. Good luck

I am in the process of removing scratches from my front right quarterpanel just behind the wheel.
I don't know if it was keyed or if it was something I ran over or past but I had a series of small razor thin scratches running from about the top of the panel next to the top of the tire down to only a couple inches from the ground right next to the door. They were in a very smooth arc that would seem consistant with something bouncing along the road and falling as it hit the car. About 5 lines, the longest no more than 3 inches, they were perfectly straight and clean. You could just faintly feel them with a fingernail and I had 4 coats of zaino on so any damage was limited to either the zaino alone or just barely into the clearcoast. Not sure if a person could make lines that even and smooth but whatever the cause I'm buffing them out by hand with 3M Perfect-It Swirl Mark Remover for Dark Colored Cars part # 39009 (Mines a silverstone). I picked it up at the local Pep Boys. Its working quite well, I've been working on it maybe an hour or two each night for the past several days. I'm down to 4 spots where you can see only the slightest variation in the finish with the perfect reflection of light, and one that is still visible in direct light. One or two more nights of work and she'll be good as new ready for zaino again.

Skorpion, I have this product too. What do you use to apply?
