I noticed a strange smell with mine kind of like burning rubber but not as strong. I noticed it more when driving on the highway at high speeds for long periods of time, during the summer with the top down. I haven't had any problems with the car it has 30,000 miles on it now. Some people here suggested it was the exhaust and it was normal as the car was breaking in. I have no idea what the smell was/is the car is running fine(knock on wood).

Could be some debris under the car or it may be the cat converter if it has one

Get the brakes hot lately? I know mine usually smells pretty good every time I pull into the garage since there is this insanely fun curve right before my apartment complex that I usually come into at 85mph and have to stand on the brakes almost to a stop to enter my complex's driveway.

Hmm. Do you have an AEM CAI. I've also had a wierd smell from under the hood and found out that anti-freeze was leaking and burning against the hot engine.

my ex had just put his AEM CAI in a month before this strange smell started to empower the car maybe 10 minutes after we would start on our way to school. It wouldnt go away for the entire ride but then it wouldnt happen when we would drive home....it was very sporadic....if u have a CAI did u install it ureself? because there might have been a glitch somewhere....
