Default What's that smell?

I'm having a weird smell emanating from the rear of my 2002 s2k. Doesn't exactly smell like rubber. Almost smells like burnt antifreeze.

I smelled it after having a bizarre clutch slip when trying to start moving from a start. I didn't drop the clutch, but I was goosing it a little. I needed to squeeze into traffic. The car barely moved. I noticed a small amount of white/blue smoke from the back.

Only 4500 miles.

Any ideas?

Slipping the clutch will produce that smell each time.

Heh. When I lived in North Carolina I had friends who called it "clutch dust."

Ehhh... I have that same smell after playing in the drive way.. (I am not 16 yet
) I have launched at 4,500 and got it... ???? Is this normal??? I have stopped doing it after guessing it was the clutch, but shouldn't it be able to handle some pressure??? I am use to my brothers third gen RX7 you could launch at the redline.... Maybe it is just a week clutch.. also I have a 00... is there anyway I can get a new clutch under warranty from the tsb???

If it smells like cat pee then it's the clutch. (personal experience)

Yeah, most likely. The clutch smell will hang out for a bit. 2 days in my unfortunate experience

The one and only time I burnt my clutch I smelled distinctly like cat pee. Like a furball squeejed in my ride. It did not smell like an electrical burn.
