I've taken the tint off a few rear windows with no problem and no scratching or razors involved.

!. Pick up some household ammonia
2. Get a plastic trash bag
3. cut the trash bag so it will lay flat on the window
4. Spray the ammonia on the tint generously
5. cover it with the trash bag
6. wait about 5-10mins
7. using your fingernail you can start a corner and pull off smoothly

Thats it, if you left it on there for enough time it should peel off with no glue left on the window

Goodluck,
Andrew

The tint shop that removed my used ammonia and sunlight... jus apply some on the tint and let it sit in the sun for a few minutes and u should be able to peal it off unless of course it's really old tint. Then u might have some problems.

Yeah if you leave it out in the sun during the process it does help. Also I forgot to put my .02 cents in about the steelwool..... I wouldn't do that and if I saw a tint shop using it on my car I think I would stop the whole opperation right there and take my car somewhere else.

I have had it bolth ways. Tint that left all the glue behind after peeling and tint that came off as clean as it went on. If you peel it and the glue stays on the window just use rubing alcohol and a good wash cloth. That is what I used and it was not as bad as I thought it would be. I am sure it is hit or miss with all the different companies that sell tint. What worked for me might not work for others.
Good luck

take it to a tint shop. they will use a steamer and it will come off super easy with the defroster still intact. I paid about 25 bucks and its way easier than doing it yourself. I tried once to do it by taking amonia with a black trash bag and it was too hott and a pain.

Don't take the limo tint off, you'll reget it!! Just tint the whole car limo tint if you want it to look clean. I've reget taking the limo tint off after whining bout it being too dark to back up. After one week off no tint(super HOT!!!!! interior!!!!!) I re-tinted the hard top to 15% and side window's to 35%, front window 50%. Don't make the same mistake I made!!!!!! Limos tint = FTW!!!
