i think it's key to differentiate advice from folks who are doing mods to (as you put it) "make your car YOURS" and those who are doing mods to tweak the actual performance of the car.

the former tend to focus on *visual* mods. the latter mostly spend their money on stuff you don't see without the hood up or the car on a lift.

if i were going to suggest some visual mods, i would agree that first choice would be wheels. but i'd suggest you first consider what the *long term* goal would be for the car (visually). for example, if i were going to go this route with my car (to be honest i'm more of the "stealth mod" type) i would be going for a yellow/black stealth thing and would be getting matte black wheels, smoke sidemarkers and window tint and would be shaving the badges and the antennae and going to clear corner lights. the idea is to think about the *overall* look in the end.

on the performance side, unless you're going SC, i'd tend to suggest the XBrace, JR airfilter, and TB as good first steps.

in *either* case you should get the Muz Mat (it will protect the value of your car).

Wow! As usual you guys are on top.

It's interesting. I'm in marketing and today I had a meeting which has totally changed my mind regarding consumer advertising. Many of you stated the same thing and it's very simple...What's my ultimate goal?

I guess that's the question I need to ask myself. I bought this car because I drove it after I drove the boxster. (I had to bribe both salesmen) I took it for a two mile spin and said, "Holy Crap! This little car rocks" and as with just about everything I do, I got impulsive and bought it. Two months later it was cold and I wanted to sell it. Then I took it out for a short spin and now I'm keeping it.

Eventually, I fell in love with Honda. Read about the history and it's presense in Formula One. Then I'm off to Monza dressed in BAR garb(And now I'm scheduled for four grand prix's this season)

Can you see what happens? Because now I can't have an S2000 that's like everyone elses. (Even through I've only seen two on the streets)

My real problem lies in that I'm not mechanically inclined. Which means I'm paying someone else to do all the work.

I'm babbling and all I wanted to say was thanks for all the good and interesting advice. I have to go away for two weeks, but after that I will take the opportunity to follow up with some of the mods and email a few of you for advice.

Thanks again. This site has some of the best people.

S2K-F8,

that's the first S2000 I have seen with just the front spoiler and nothing else (no rear and/or side strakes).

I like it!

LOL, I have to agree. $USD1,000 for the HKS ain't exactly bang per buck for zero performance gain!

I'm trying to order the Sony XSV1621 from Crutchfield but there's no S2000 listed under MY 2001 -- (but there is one for MY 2000 obviously). Are we positive that the speaker baskets and speaker system stayed the same in MY 2001? Can I just get the MY 2000 and have it fit my MY 2001 S2K? Thanks anyone who can help! :-)

Has anyone here owned both the OEM Titanium knob and the Voodoo Titanium knob? How do they compare? I am guessing that the Voodoo still has a shorter travel, but does it make any difference in the transmission feel?

Thanks!
