the ideal race would've been a real F20 with a true AP1 setup (03) vs the AP2. the handling behavior between the two were identical.
That 2nd video was interesting, I think. It blurs the lines of AP1-AP2 (US version) because the suspension/trans is probably the same - in other words, the ONLY difference is the engine.

From the 2nd video, you can see that with the same suspension, some tracks will favor the AP1 - when they don't have to go up one more gear due to the 9K RPM. Obviously, the torque of the F20 is a big handicap but it -CAN- be overcome. Obviously then the best thing you can do to drive "fast" in an s2000 is to just learn how to drive The difference between the two cars are sooo....small that for most normal drivers like us, the difference is basically a good day vs. a bad day - if you're feeling constipated vs. if you pooped before you jumped in the car .

I have to say that I really really wanted an AP2, but I had to settle for the AP1 due to financial reasons. Now, I LOVE my AP1 - I'd definitely think of getting an F22 that revs to 9K, OR FI/Nitrous/tune but...I really do want to keep that 9,000 Redline<3. Anybody disagrees with me?!

So did anyone else check out the best lap times listed at the end of TRD's video? I don't read Japanese, but it appears that even though the f20 model lost the race it had the fastest lap.

it seems all the AP1 needed was a tweak with the suspension and different set of wheels. cause in the video i posted it has the 17" wheels and tires but did it have the AP2 suspension as well? don't know. the 1st video towards the end had the 99-00 AP1 suspension with 17" wheels/tires and it was faster by 5/10th.

Honda made over 2000 changes to the car for 2004 - there is a ton of stuff that was improved to make the car better.
