Hi
Hi,
Just thought I'd say hello. We're considering buying an S2000 (it's on a list of possibles). We've had a selection of cars (we're in the UK and things on this board seem to be mostly US related - so I guess some cars won't mean anything to anybody !).
We've had the pleasure to own the following;
Alfa GTV 2.0, MG-F 1.8i, Mitsubishi FTO GPvR, Subaru Impreza Turbo and are looking to replace (at some point) our current Renault Clio 172.
So we've had all manner of turbo / non-turbo, FWD, RWD, 4WD.
Our possible replacements include;
S2000 GT
New (non-bug eyed) Subaru STi (prodrive)
Lotus Elise 111S
Mazda RX8 (Euro spec 240ps version)
What thoughts ?
cheers guys,
Andy

Hi Roku_F2OC,
Yep, the FTO was pretty bonkers. V6, 8200rpm redline (ok, not 9000, but getting there), mivec engine (a bit like VTEC but a bit more subtle). It sounded much faster cos if you imaging the noise of 4 pistons doing 9000rpm vs 6 pistons doing 8200 - sounds like a jet engine. The suspension was rock hard as well, bucket seats and in icelle blue.
I used to be the webmaster of the FTO Owner Club in the UK.
Ours is the car closest in frame without the bonnet up
This was taken at Trax 2000 at silverstone (huge UK car meetup)
http://www.versionr.com/trax2000/images/P1010012.jpg
and this was at Donnington park, being naughty timing 0-60's in the wet on the service road
http://www.mivec.co.uk/ftorally/ftorallydo...99/andygp_r.jpg
The only reason we got rid of it was because my wife Ali couldn't get in and out of it (it was her car really) when she we pregnant with our son James (so we got the Clio 172 as a replacement - just as fast and not quite as in your face).
cheers
