Default Hi I'm New...exhaust question

Well, I'm finalizing my s2k paperwork and so i should have it soon.

I'm more in touch with bikes, so please excuse my noobishness. However, if anyone has questions about sportbikes, i'll be happy to answer any questions.

My question is about axleback exhausts. Are there any available?

Oh, and if anyone has an invidia exhaust and lives in houston, i'd like to take a listen.

Thanks guys

You can only buy catback exhausts for this car. Our stock exhaust is one piece.

You can do an "axle back" exhaust on your own. A few guys have replaced their stock rear mufflers with aftermarket mufflers to reduce the backpressure and to get a different sound. Magnaflow mufflers seem to come up when this sort of thing is discussed. I've even seen one example of an owner using motorcycle cans to replace the rear stock mufflers. Such modifications may not be of any power benefit but if that's the sound you like, then it's a choice.
Cat backs are a far better way to go as this allows for a nice integration of parts.

Here's a site with most of the cat backs for this car:

Did you buy a new one? Recent posts have mentioned that cat back exhausts from earlier years do not fit on 2006's without modding.

But yeah, no axle backs for our car.

i've been trolling this site for about 3 weeks reading up on the invidia drone problem, and its different percieved solutions........

from what i gather....you either weld the stock resonator on, get test pipes, or dynamat the hell out of it.

i think that the invidia suits my sound preferences as far as a onlooker listening to it from the outside, but i'm gonna want a definite reduction of drone as i'll prolly be driving from San Antonio back to Houston to visit my parents once every month or so. also, i'm sure my girl would like to carry a conversation while driving so even with the stock resonator back on, can you hold a normal coversation with her?

i've been on s2k library but i know the clips do no justice to the real sound.
