I've seen several Audi's around and I don't think that their lights look better. The S2000 has one of the "blue-ist" lights around.
The stock Audi lights are in no way better. In fact, they're less focused and less blue. So goes for the BMWs and Porsches, etc. The US versions of these German cars come with a diffused lens. Go ahead and look at the projector lens on any stock Audi headlight and you'll see what I mean.
I'm thinking about doing the 6K conversion myself. I was quoted $299 w/ shipping for the bulbs only which is all you need.
Has anyone done this?

If you stand close to any HID headlight, it's not going to look blue at all. More like a yellowish/white color. It's when the angle changes when you get that blue effect which looks unique on the roads today. The farther you stand from it, the better the chance you'll have to look at it from an angle. On the road, when the car pitches up and down, that's what other driver's scream and yell at us about.
HIDS4less is selling on the premise that at 6000K, the color you see from near or far is bluer than the S2000's light at 4100K. It's not that the 6000K is brighter; the color is simply different. It doesn't matter if the stock's light is more similar to natural sunlight. What matters to those who buy these is the intense blue light.
One thing that's holding me back is that I'm just not familiar with the overall quality of the bulbs that HIDS4less sells. They warranty them for five years and they say that all their stuff comes from a German company that sources German makes (i.e. Audi, Porsche, BMW). But is the quality better than the stock bulbs? Is the install truly that easy?
I'm hoping someone with more background knowledge can chime in here.

If i remember correctly, the 6000k bulbs are actually not as bright. The amount of light is rated in lumens. Higher color temperature (Kelvin) does not correlate to a brighter light.

You couldnt have said it better.
Lumens are the intensity(brightness)
Kelvin i.e. 6000k/9000K is the color the bulb produces. The higher the Kelvin rating the closer it is to sunlight color.
Sunlight has a wide range of color temperatures. See the following link:
http://micro.magnet.fsu.edu/primer/lightan.../colortemp.html
Noon sunlight is typically 5400K. If you go mich higher than this you are getting further from white light into blue and violet.
